Paper/Cardstock
Paper and cardstock can be recycled in your normal curbside or drop-off recycling. Flatten any cartons.
Coated Steel Cables
We recommend upcycling these little coated steel cables as keyrings or to hang charms off of your saddle rails. If you prefer, they can be recycled at local recycling drop-off spots that accept coated wires and cables.
Clear Plastic Bags
These bags can be recycled at local retailers that accept PE film. Here is a partial list of drop-off retailers by state.
Nylon Zip-Ties
We use nylon zip-ties to attach our gear to packaging. While some places accept nylon recycling, the small size of these ties makes them hard to process and could gum up recycling equipment. Throwing these out is most likely your best option.
Polypropylene (PP) Sheets
These are polypropylene and fall under the #5 recycling category. However, many places recycle by the shape of the plastic rather than the number. Portland, OR, for example, only recycles bottle and tub shaped polypropylene plastics, so check with your local recycling program/facilities to see if you can recycle these.
Steel CO2 Cartridges
As always you'll want to check with your local recycling provider, but in most areas as long as the CO2 cartridges are EMPTY, they are OK to go in the mixed recycling as scrap metal or to a scrap metal drop-off recycling center.
Lithium Batteries
All of our rechargeable lights contain either lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries. Do not put these in the trash! They can cause fires at landfills or recycling operations. Check here to see where you can drop off your old lithium batteries.
Single-Use Batteries
Single-use batteries like AAA, AA, 9V, C, etc are safe to be thrown away in the trash. However, we encourage you to check out this link and select the "single-use batteries" filter to find a recycling drop-off near you.
