I have been using these lights since 2014. I have a quality battery charging station for AA and AAA batteries and have been using the Danger Zone with them. I prefer this to lights that have embedded, non-user-replaceable batteries that must be tossed because the battery can no longer hold a charge. Good job, PDW, designing and supporting a environmentally-friendly product like this!
I LOVE this light! It’s the multipurpose, Jedi Knight, of clip lights. I’ve used it for biking, wandering the dark backroads of Connecticut, on foot at night, and as a light for my dogs harness. That BTW should be advertised as a good use for this light. If this option came up when people google “dog light”, I’m willing to wager you would sell a ton! It can attach to her harness ( it’s a bit too abrasive to attach to her collar) and is the most visible light I’ve used in its price range. I’ve burned through a ton of dog lights, and this blows all of them out of the water. I couldn’t find her harness light one night, so I just grabbed this holy savior, if safety beacons, and haven’t looked back! I am actually going to buy a second one, because my original has been stolen by my pup! So yeah, positively the most functional light I’ve come across, for both myself and my dog. 10/10
I've had this light for six years and love it. It's blindingly bright, the mount works great, and removable batteries keep it running as good as new. Never had a problem with the waterproofing. A top-notch light!
I normally use the slow sexy mode during lazy days and group rides. The crazy fast mode is great for super dark lonely roads or in crazy ass traffic because it gives a sense of "you are blind if you can't see this" vibe. I did pay extra for the rigid (original) mount because some riders have lost their light with the one it comes with. Maybe there was a bad batch of soft mount when they switched over? I really like the battery operation since it lasts a long time and I often forget to charge other lights so they go dark on me mid ride. Worst case you can bring extra batteries when it stats to fade. The price is also reasonable when you can buy chargeable lights 2 to 3 times more.
We have several of these and they have been great lights. We’re invested in rechargeable batteries and run our lights with high capacity Eneloop type batteries (currently Ikea Ladda white precharged). They run for hours before needing to be recharged, the battery life is excellent. And they are bright. We run them in zZz-pop mode which is very noticeable at night or in daylight. Every one of our bikes has a rear PDW mount on it. PDW sells additional mounts including those for rear racks. Their customer support is great.
PDW made a great light here. I really dig the first mode with slooooow blinks. Shows drivers you have some trust and doesn't make em frantic. AAA batteries last a looooooong time, and when the batt starts to go flat the LEDs dim from super bright to kinda bright over a week of daily commuting. Looks just basic enough to not be a theft magnet in my area for quick stops.
I have owned one since March 2012 and have used it hundreds and hundreds of times. It still works just as perfectly as day 1 and gets ridiculous run hours with basic rechargeable batteries. It works well and has great visibility. The updated mounting system (now included) is the only thing I would change. Keep up the great work!
This has got to be the best tail light available, period. It's bright, lightweight, even has a less obnoxious group ride mode. I've bought one for every bike I ride at night. I even buy them as gifts for friends. I guess the only thing I'd like to see is a rigid mount in the box, though one is available and the Stayputnik rubber mount is excellent in its own right.
I love this rear lamp. I have had it on my bike since 2014, and use this bike 2 times a week and it's still going. Super bright. It is a battery powered lamp, which is good, since I go places where there is no power to recharge a lamp.
I can't believe this page isn't flooded with reviews already. Did a lot of research before purchasing this item, unfortunately bike got stolen and now I need a new one! When I first bought it got one for my brother and a good friend and they both loved it. Had been using it for the past 4 years through rain, gravel and mud. Great product!
On night rides and night bike commutes, the Danger Zone tail light is a nice choice for being seen. This is a bright light in a small package, and is helpful for making sure you get distinguished as a bike from behind.
