First and foremost, this is a solid product — so good that I bought two for my two bikes. The construction feels premium and secure.
I’m giving it 4 stars only because I wish it had a thicker anti-slip liner covering the full inner surface. That would prevent direct metal contact with the handlebar and add extra friction for a tighter hold. My workaround was to apply anti-slip tape and an extra layer of rubber — works perfectly.
For reference, my setup is a Brompton C-Line with mid-height handlebars, so this may not apply to bikes with straight bars.
It would also help future buyers if the product page listed compatible cups/mugs — for example, the Yeti Stackable Rambler (up to 20 oz) and Miir 12 oz Tumbler both fit nicely. I prefer the Miir for its lighter weight and solid stability even over rough bumps.

I have a mountain bike/street bike hybrid with stock bars and it fits perfectly. Super easy installation (not rocket science). I think what possibly confuses some people is that as you tighten the bracket, it shifts/slides into position. I can see how it may give the illusion of being too small at first, but trust me, this standard size will fit nearly all bars (unless you have some crazy custom job with super thick bars). I nearly ordered the larger size, but am happy I didn't. Cup holder also is very sleek and stylish! *Noteworthy: It will not hold cups that are not tapered. If ordering a reusable mug/thermos it MUST be either tapered or just under the exact circumference of the holder. Otherwise, it will slip through and the pavement will be quenched. Holds standard "to go" coffee cups perfectly, as well as larger iced coffee/smoothie cups.

I love this! Best biking accessory I have bought. :-) It has revolutionized my bike commute. I can now enjoy a coffee when I'm at a stop-light, or while riding, AND it I no longer am drinking trail grit (like I did when I used to use my bottle cage to hold my coffee).
I've had lots of compliments on it and my husband has since purchased one for himself and one as a gift for a friend.
It is very secure - I have not had any mugs slip out, in fact, it almost seems to grip them more on bumpy roads/paths.

I often pick up coffee on the way to work, and used to have to ride slowly to avoid spilling any, riding with one hand.
This works perfectly, the rubberised interior firmly gripping any tapered cup (cylindrical ones won't work).
Caveat: this isn't gryoscopically stabilised, and has no suspension, so if you ride over a bump coffee WILL come out, in anything that isn't completely sealed (for example: to-go coffee cups have that sipping hole - coffee will spurt out).
I recommend this cup, which is water-tight and fits very snugly into the holder once you remove the grip from the cup.
