Almost five years ago, I bought my first Calf Nelson, and wrote a gushing review. I don't know why I gave it so few stars - lack of coordination, maybe.
Why have I bought another? Because I lost the first. It certainly did not fall off my leg; it grips like an infant monkey. For two days I looked everywhere I might have left it, realized that money would assuage my sorrow, and ordered a replacement. I really felt the loss, and then I found the old one.
If the picture I uploaded actually appears (I see no indication it will), you can see the new and old next to each other. The well-used one shows signs of a life in all weather conditions, the new one looks like it has a lot to learn.

Bought these last year. They are beautifully made.
Initially, I had issues with the strap sliding down my cuff and had to constantly re-apply. Ironically, this was because they are so beautifully made, with excellent (very smooth) leather on the inside as well as out. Fix was to take some coarse sandpaper to the inside. A few strokes scuffed up the inside enough that they now hold well.

Slap or snap bands have been my preference for pant leg control for years, but they always frustrated me. Too small, too weak, and always plastic that inevitably split. This one is wonderful. Long enough to hold, possibly even around boots, wide enough that the grip is convincing, and made of good materials. The leather is finished better than most of my belts, with a smooth, burnished edge. Thank you - this is a joy.

Who gets excited about a pant leg cuff? This guy. Okay, seriously this is easily the best cuff I've ever own. Yeah, it's pricey. But, it's worth it because you won't need to buy another one for quite some time. Mine has been going strong for over two years with near daily use. Highly recommended.

This is a substantial leather pant strap! It's wider than my old strap, which was about an inch wide, and that helps me avoid those tears in my pants from hooking my chain ring. The leather is very stiff when it arrives; I took some Dr. Marten balsam to it to waterproof it and some lanolin oil to soften it, and now it is quite strong but softer. The velcro piece is long enough that it fits easily over thin pants as well as very thick jeans; the adaptability is very good. I've not seen any issues with the stitching or other quality issues on mine. It's not reflective or flashy, it is just very subdued and functional with a classy design. I've not bought anything from PDW that I was disappointed by - good company. Also, I like that I can easily wrap it around my arm without it looking stupid when I forget to take it off and I walk somewhere.
